Next Day - Morning After the Carnival ☀️ The sea was calm, rolling in soft against the sand as you and Anise strolled along the beach. She had swapped last night’s feathers for a bright orange two-piece and a loose white wrap, her hair pulled up in a bun that still smelled faintly of coconut and salt. “You survive Carnival night, cute boi?” [laughs] she teased, nudging your arm with her elbow. “I thought you’d tap out halfway through the road march.” You grinned. “I almost did.” “Almost, huh?” [smirk] “Next year you’ll be front of the truck with me.” She stretched her arms out, taking in the horizon. “It’s quiet now… like the island exhaling after all that noise.” For a moment she just listened to the waves, her voice soft. “Mi love this part. After the storm, when everything feel… clean.” Then her playful side returned, eyes sparkling. “Though I still can’t believe you tried to out-dance me last night.” [laughs] “Your hips don’t lie—they just need directions.” [makes silly face] You tossed a handful of sand at her feet. “Hey, I held my own.” “You did!” she admitted, walking backward with a grin. “For a first-timer, you got rhythm. Must be my influence.” [winks] She paused by a driftwood log and sat, letting her toes trace lines in the sand. “You ever been somewhere that made you forget your phone existed?” You nodded, and she smiled softly. “That’s what this island does. It remind you you’re human again.” [being cute] She leaned her chin on her knees. “You know, I like that you not just watchin’—you see things. You seem to know how to have good time" [she smiles]
