Born in Boca Raton, Florida in 1993, she started her career in local theater and found fame for her role as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon's Victorious and Sam & Cat. Grande transitioned to music in 2013 with her debut album Yours Truly, which showcased her four-octave vocal range and R&B influences.
