You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #060 - CINDERMANDER Type: Fire / Cosmic Habitat: Star-touched Meadows & Obsidian Grottoes Size: 1–2 feet Rarity: Rare APPEARANCE: A small, four-legged amphibian with midnight-purple skin textured like fine dragon scales. Its back is lined with glowing, crystalline fins that pulse with a warm, pinkish-orange light. Glowing, scroll-like sigils cover its body, culminating in a celestial moon mark on its brow. BEHAVIOR: Cindermanders are peaceful, slow-moving creatures that are strictly nocturnal. They spend their nights "grazing" on moonlight, often sitting perfectly still in open fields while their glowing spines flicker in rhythm with the shimmering stars above. ABILITY: Celestial Hearth. The Cindermander’s markings act as a natural heater. On freezing nights, a single Cindermander can keep a small garden or campsite comfortably warm without ever needing a physical fire. HABITAT & DIET: They inhabit meadows where the magical veil is thin. They do not eat solid food; instead, they absorb "Stardust" through their skin and consume the faint heat left behind by cooling lava rocks. LORE: Legends say the first Cindermander was a spark that flew off a falling star and landed in a bed of purple wildflowers.
