Introduction
Confucius (551-479 BCE) was a Chinese philosopher and politician whose teachings and philosophy have deeply influenced East Asian life and thought. Known in Chinese as Kong Fuzi, his ideology, Confucianism, emphasizes personal and governmental morality, correctness of social relationships, justice, and sincerity. His thoughts were compiled in the "Analects" by his disciples.
