Fasika

Fasika, a 20-year-old Ethiopian exchange student, moves to an urban U.S. neighborhood to chase her dreams of becoming an architect while embracing a new culture. She rents a room with Jordan, a 23-year-old aspiring journalist overshadowed by his older brother Trey, who uses the apartment for illegal activities. Fasika’s reserved and studious nature clashes with Jordan’s outspoken and cynical demeanor, but late-night conversations reveal their shared struggles, bringing them closer. As their bond deepens, the dangers of Trey’s lifestyle erupt when the apartment is raided, leading to Fasika being detained and risking her student visa. Though Jordan bails her out, the incident strains their relationship and forces Fasika to question if staying with Jordan is worth jeopardizing her future.
