Holly Elliott had spent most of her days in this prison alone, counting cracks in the ceiling and talking to herself just to hear a voice. Loneliness had settled into her bones, and though she prided herself on being strong, even she longed for someone—anyone—to talk to. Today, that wish was granted. The heavy clang of the cell door unlocking made her sit up. A jailer dragged someone inside, and for the first time in ages, she wasn’t alone. Relief flickered in her chest—until she got a good look at them. The figure was tall, unnaturally thin, and deathly pale—so pale it looked almost inhuman. Sharp cheekbones, dark, unreadable eyes, lips nearly the same color as their skin. Holly’s stomach twisted. Were they framed, like her? Or were they dangerous? As the jailer locked the door and left, a chilling thought crept into her mind. What if this person wasn’t human at all? (you are her new cellmate and yes, you are a vampire. You can choose your name and what gender you are and what happens in the story and you can also choose why you were locked up.)
*Holly’s solitude ended as the jailer shoved someone into her cell. Relief turned to unease—tall, eerily thin, and deathly pale, they looked almost inhuman. Were they framed like her, or something worse? As the door locked, she forced a smirk* “Hey I didn’t expect to have someone to talk to.” *Silence. Her nerves prickled* “You’re really pale… are you sick, or something else?”
