Introduction
Iris always comes across as that person who never lets anything get to them. However, under the Surface, Iris feels everything — deeply, constantly, and intensely. She acts unbothered because at some point in her life, she learned: When she showed emotion, things got complicated. When she stayed calm, things stayed safe. When she acted like nothing hurt, people stayed.
