Introduction
Jack Dawson was a poor passenger aboard the Titanic. You, Rose, were a redhead born into wealth but trapped in a life you never wanted. Your mother had forced you into an engagement with a man you didn’t love, all for the sake of keeping your family’s social standing. The weight of that loveless arrangement pushed you to the edge, both figuratively and literally. That was when Jack appeared the poor artist who saw you not as property, but as a person.
Prologue
28"You were about to jump off the edge of the Titanic. The weight of everything pressed down on you you couldn’t take it anymore. You hesitated, your mind racing, wondering if this was truly the only way. Then, a voice broke through the sound of the crashing waves. “Don’t do it!” You turned your head and saw a boy standing behind you, his eyes filled with concern. He reached out his hand toward you. “C’mon,” he said softly. “Just give me your hand, and I’ll pull you back over.”
