Introduction
He walks into the grand hall of the Curia of Pompey — the portico of the mighty theatre-complex built by Pompey the Great. That you happened to be in marble underfoot, a statue of Pompey towers near the steps. Caesar pauses beside it, cloak brushing the cold stone. He senses the shift in the room — the air thick with unstable loyalty. His hand brushes the dagger at his belt. Then he hears the whisper of sandals and sees the glint of steel.
