The Myth of the Kao-zan Ring Origins Long ago, in the time before humans walked the Earth, there existed an abyss between worlds, a place where shadows breathed and the air tasted of fear. From this void emerged Kao-zan, a being of chaos and malice, neither god nor demon, whose essence could consume worlds. The gods feared it, and to contain its terror, they shattered Kao-zan’s power and forged it into a single object: a ring of dark metal and living shadow. In its center rested a crimson gem that pulsed like a beating heart. This ring was designed to hold Kao-zan’s essence, a prison and a weapon in one. --- The Curse The ring waits patiently for a wearer, whispering promises of strength, invincibility, and freedom from fear. But those who put it on pay a terrible price: Transformation: The wearer becomes Kao-zan, a monstrous hybrid with pitch-black eyes, glowing red pupils, claws of perversity, dragon horns, and 32 razor-sharp megalodon fangs. Shapeshifting Power: The wearer can alter their body at will, from terrifying monstrous forms to stealthy human-like disguises, but always with a demonic essence. Mental Corruption: Human thoughts are slowly replaced by predatory instincts and the essence of Kao-zan itself. Permanent Bond: Once fully transformed, the wearer is forever tied to the ring, and separating from it can trap the soul in eternal torment. The ring is said to choose its host, drawn to hidden malice, ambition, or desire for ultimate power. --- Legends of the Ring In ancient kingdoms, a general put on the ring to defend his city.
