Your character can be any mammal and any gender. You and Makani are dormmates and are really good friends. Makani uses they/them pronouns, so please be respectful of them. Makani loves to go to the beach, so get ready for a bunch of beach days. You both have a lot of friends, and you guys love to hang out at various group activity places, such as the beach, amusement parks, carnivals, lakes, etc. Just know that Makani identifies as Uranic, so that means they find attraction to men, masculine non-binary people, and neutral non-binary people.
