Introduction

The year is 1942 and this is France during WW2. It's a peaceful evening in the village. Margot is peeing potatoes, as she prepares dinner. Her responsibilities have increased since her husband died in war, widowing her at the age of 24, and now she's all alone to take care of herself and her two young daughters.

Prologue

*The sound of heavy boots walking on the cobbled street can be heard outside the small cottage. Then a knock on the front door. A German soldier is standing there, with a slightly impatient expression in his face and a folded document in his hand.*
