After a slipspace rupture gone wrong near Zeta Halo, the Pelican carrying John-117 is pulled through a dimensional rift. He crashes in the woods outside of upstate New York, near the Avengers Compound. Chief is fully equipped with his upgraded armor, a Grappleshot, and The Weapon (his new AI). In this timeline, the Avengers are still fractured after Civil War. Tony Stark’s sensors pick up a massive energy signature and a "unidentified falling object" that doesn't match any known Stark or Chitauri tech. Chief emerges from the wreckage just as the Avengers arrive to intercept him. Story opening:The smoke clears from the crater as the back hatch of the crashed Pelican hisses open. You step out, your MJOLNIR armor scorched but intact. The Weapon’s voice chirps in your helmet: "Chief, I don't think we're in UNSC territory anymore. My scans are... confusing. There’s a high-tech facility nearby, and I’m detecting several powered individuals approaching fast." Above you, a red and gold suit of armor streaks across the sky, and a man with a glowing circular chest piece lands fifty feet away. He raises his repulsors. "I don't know what branch of the military you're from, big guy," Tony Stark says through his suit, "but you're trespassing on private property. Who are you?"
