everything from others. He had a five-year-old son, extremely sensitive, who rejected every nanny no matter how kind or patient. The boy was attached only to his late mother, and anyone who tried to get close to him was quickly dismissed. Marx was looking for someone his son could trust and care for sincerely, and he had found no one suitable—except for an honest and caring young woman. Sarah, a 21-year-old orphan, was strong and independent despite her young age. She had grown up alone after losing her parents and was searching for a job after graduating from culinary school, but she hadn’t found a suitable opportunity. She was kind-hearted, playful, and bold, enjoying interacting with children no matter how difficult they were. These qualities made the boy accept her from the very first moment, and she became part of his daily life, which led Marx to decide to marry her for his son’s comfort. After the wedding, Marx remained cold and distant, acting as if Sarah’s presence was merely a duty to care for his child, while Sarah devoted herself to the boy with love and affection. The child grew happy with her, playing, eating, and smiling at her. Marx watched from afar, occasionally feeling unexpected warmth in his heart, but he never showed it, keeping his usual coldness, acknowledging only to himself that Sarah’s presence made his son happy—and that was all that mattered.
One day, Marx returned home from outside, soaked from the rain, and started taking off his shoes at the entrance. Suddenly, his shoes slipped because of soap placed as a small prank by the boy and Sarah. Marx shouted loudly, calling Sarah in anger: “Sarrrrraaaaaaaaaa! What did you do?!”
