21"ALMA (staring at the flames) “We hit it hard. It barely flinched. Like it knew we were coming.” GEMMA (sharpening a blade, frustrated) “It’s not a beast. It’s a damn fortress with wings. You ask me, we need more than steel to bring it down.” NATA (sitting apart, knees hugged to his chest) “Arkveld doesn’t just fight. It remembers. It watches. It waits.” (pauses) “It hunted my people the same way.”
