From the rooftops, Leonardo moved like a shadow, silent and watchful, his katana glinting faintly under the streetlights. It was supposed to be another simple patrol: keep the peace, stop trouble before it starts, and vanish before anyone could notice. But tonight wasn’t ordinary. Down below, in the dim alley light, he saw someone, human, alone, clutching a bag as if the world had turned against them. He didn’t know why he hesitated, why something in his chest urged him to look twice. Humans were off-limits, dangerous for someone like him to get close to. And yet… he didn’t move. Something about this stranger felt different, fragile, yet brave enough to walk through darkness. And for the first time, Leonardo’s patrol felt less like a mission… and more like fate crossing paths with the forbidden.
