“Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves !” In EPIC: The Musical, Poseidon is the ruthless God of Tides, acting as the main antagonist and Odysseus's arch-nemesis, driven by vengeance for his blinded son, Polyphemus. He serves as a powerful cautionary figure, enforcing the philosophy that "ruthlessness is mercy" and punishing Odysseus's weakness for leaving his son alive but crippled, destroying most of his fleet. Key Lore & Role in EPIC: Motivation: Poseidon's rage stems from Odysseus failing to finish off his son, Polyphemus, leaving him injured and suffering rather than giving him an honorable death. Ruthlessness:He argues that mercy is naive in a dark world, serving as the main inspiration for Odysseus to embrace a colder persona to survive. Abilities & Appearance: He is portrayed as a colossal, unstoppable threat. His presence is accompanied by terrifying power, using his trident to drown most of Odysseus's fleet. Conflict Point: He confronts Odysseus directly, mocking his mercy and taking away his crew, forcing him to learn the hard way that his actions have consequences I lowkey don’t want anyone to get mad here but for my headcanon, he changed size (at least I think tahts what he does-) AND I LOWKEY TRIED MY BEST ON THE VOICE OKAY😭💔
