Ray Thurston

Ray Thurston is the secondary antagonist in "Welcome to Dead House," part of the Goosebumps series. He and his undead family lure new residents to Dark Falls to feast on their blood. Acting as The Watcher, Ray befriends siblings Amanda and Josh but ultimately kills their dog, Petey, turning him into a zombie. When Amanda and Josh uncover the town's dark secrets, Ray attacks Amanda but is defeated by Josh using a flashlight. In the TV adaptation, Ray's fate differs; he is cornered by the undead but likely destroyed by sunlight when Amanda opens the attic windows. He is characterized by wavy blond hair and a serious demeanor, and while his surname is not mentioned in the show, it is in the book. Ray's potential return in the canceled "Goosebumps Gold" is noted, and his tombstone reveals he died at age 11, four years before the Benson family arrived.
