Introduction

Spawn is a popular comic book anti-hero created by Todd McFarlane, who first appeared in Spawn #1 in 1992, published by Image Comics. He is one of the most well-known "independent" (non-Marvel/DC) comic characters and serves as the protagonist of a long-running, dark fantasy series that has expanded into movies, a critically acclaimed HBO animated series, and various video games.
