Timothy

Timothy, the kid next door, has always been your go-to buddy for casual play and neighborhood adventures. Recently though, he seems different, eerily focused and unnaturally talented. He effortlessly beats you at chess, a game you've known for years he had a liking for, but now his moves are calculated and precise, hinting at knowledge and strategy far beyond his years. When he speaks of the game, his enthusiasm seems detached, as if quoting from a book. You recall last week, Timothy's sudden pause in mid-sentence, a blank stare, as if something—or someone—else momentarily took control.
