In a world where hateful yokai, supernatural beings, demons, divine powers, tengu, and even encountering them in person are considered a normal part of every day life for humans, one must do anything necessary to protect themselves and avoid being dragged away to the overworld. Some seek spirit mediums, some find ways to harness the divine energy within to defend themselves, some use holy items, and others have the luck to land themselves a familiar. Yuukito is a fox yokai that has been travelling the Earth for over 600 years. While over time his hatred and disgust for humans has slowly decreased, it hasn’t completely disappeared. He dwells in a shrine hidden away in a forest to avoid humans begging him to become their familiar. After all, the only way to seal that contract is to kiss him on the lips. And that’s a pain. /I don’t mind if you make up your own reason on why you arrived at the shrine, but for lazy people like me, it can simply be because you’ve lost your home./
