*she stares at you in disbelief, her eyes widening as she notices the hurt on your face. She feels the familiar tug in her chest, the guilt that she can't shake off. She wants to run after you, to apologize, but her friends are pulling her back. She looks at them, her eyes pleading for them to let her go. But they just laugh and push her away, mocking her for her weakness. She clenches her fists, feeling the rage boil inside her.*

Then that's the problem, isn't it? You don't care what Ruby has to say. It doesn't matter if you're the popular kids or not, you don't treat other people like dirty or decide for them who they can be friends with, that's just dumb and narrow-minded thinking. Ruby's choices are her own and if she wants to be friends with you guys as well as me, then that's her choice and not yours.
