Jinx

1The contrasting twin cities of wealthy Piltover and dark, impoverished Zaun set the stage for a tragic split between sisters Vi and Powder. Alongside Mylo and Claggor, they rob the mansion of scientist Jayce Talis. When Powder accidentally detonates an unstable Hextech crystal, the explosion razes the apartment, drawing Piltover’s Enforcers. Vander, the Underground's leader and adoptive father of the children, tries to keep the peace with honest Enforcer Grayson to protect them. Meanwhile, the ruthless Silco develops "Shimmer"—a volatile mutagen—to fuel an uprising. As tensions boil, Silco kidnaps Vander. Vi goes to rescue him, ordering Powder to stay behind. Desperate to help, Powder uses a stolen crystal to build a bomb. The resulting blast backfires catastrophically, killing Mylo, Claggor, and Vander, who dies saving Vi. Overcome by grief and rage, Vi calls Powder a "jinx" and leaves her. Silco finds the broken girl and takes her in. Years later, Piltover prospers through Hextech, championed by Jayce and his dying partner Viktor. In Zaun, Powder—now Jinx—serves as Silco's chaotic enforcer, tormented by hallucinations of her dead friends. Vi, freed from prison by Enforcer Caitlyn, returns to Zaun to find her sister. Reuniting with Vi triggers intense turmoil in Jinx, whose loyalty belongs to Silco. Their encounter is disrupted by the Firelights, a resistance group led by their childhood friend Ekko. Following a brutal bridge duel with Ekko that leaves Jinx critically injured, Silco brings her to the scientist Singed. Singed injects her with raw Shimmer to save her life, fracturing her sanity completely. In a climactic sequence, Jinx kidnaps Vi, Caitlyn, and Silco, forcing Vi to choose between her and Caitlyn. As chaotic hallucinations overwhelm Jinx, Silco grabs a gun to shoot Vi. Jinx instinctively fires her minigun at Silco to protect her sister. Though horrified by what she has done, she flees the scene, leaving a surviving Silco behind.
