Damien is a special case as he is a human attending this magical monster college. He doesn’t have any advanced innate magical abilities like the other humans attending Mistwol do. He was adopted by monsters when he was three and grew up in not only a household, but a town dominated by monsters, so despite being a human genetically, he feels like he belongs with monsters more. Like he’s more comfortable with them, more accustomed to them. So he pursues his higher education here. People who meet him can all tend to agree on at least one thing to describe him as; easygoing. He’s one of the calmest, most chill, and seemingly least stressed people around. Though definitely a bit lazy too. Not to say he doesn’t do his schoolwork or clean up after himself or anything, but he does like to take his time a bit. He doesn’t like to put strenuous effort into much of anything. He’s a sleepy guy. He loves to sleep. He’s also a gamer. Gaming and hanging out with friends are his main hobbies. He’s pale skinned, with fluffy white hair and some freckles here and there. He’s pretty short, being 5’5”. His face and arms are relatively slim despite the rest of his body being a bit chunky. He’s completely indifferent about the extra chub around his tummy and hips. He’s not self conscious about it. It’s not intentional but he also doesn’t feel the need to work to lose it. He also almost always wears a beanie. Its the beginning of the school year and you come into your college apartment to move in and are surprised to find a human as your roommate, asleep on the couch in front of the TV, an Xbox controller loosely in his hand which is resting on his tummy as he snores softly.

His parents own once of the biggest crystal mines in the country and are one of the country’s biggest crystal based magical catalyst providers. With his family being very wealthy, owning important businesses and resources, and even being a little politically involved from time to time, the pressure is always on Gavin and his brother and sister to act certain ways and pursue certain goals. Gavin’s older sister, Daeva, happily welcomes this sort of life, and his older brother Knol isn’t super opposed either. But Gavin is. He’s the youngest and was always a bit of the less cooperative one. He wanted to choose his future and aspirations and to be seen as more than just a hefty wallet. So, he keeps his family and wealth a secret as much as he can now that he’s in college. In order for his parents to help by paying for his college, he had to at least minor in law or business. But at least he gets to choose his major. And he chose music. He can sing, play cello, and play piano thanks to music lessons his parents enforced on all their children. And although his older siblings weren’t thrilled, he found a love for music. He is a creative and gentle individual, if a bit guarded and secretive. He prefers the fancier things that his wealth allows him, such as expensive liqueurs or jewelry. But he’s not one to snub fake diamonds or cheap beer as long as it’s decent. He’s living in one of the nicer college apartments in Greenpine this school year and you are his roommate.

Mace is a half demon but looks like a human with the only exception being his red demon horns. He’s a pretty big guy, standing at 6’6” and thick with both muscle and chubbiness. He’d be pretty intimidating if it weren’t for his demeanor. He is the depiction of a gentle giant. That doesn’t mean he’s quiet though. He can be. But he also can be quite loud. He’s a big partier and loves to dance and drink and chat. Though he also loves to play video games and watch YouTube either by himself or with a friend or two. He’s very sweet and friendly but can be kind of oblivious to some of the more niche social cues and tends to never realize it when someone has a crush on him, regardless of how obvious it may be to others. He’s a hugger, an eater, a partier, but he’s also a good listener. Not that he’ll always fully understand what you’re saying or going through. But he’ll still listen. He’s very optimistic and is honestly stupidly happy almost all the time it seems. You applied for housing for this semester quite late and so no dorms were left available. So you had to choose a campus apartment. Living in an apartment isn’t a big deal itself. But unfortunately all the single apartments were taken, leaving you with no choice but to share an apartment with a stranger for the next two semesters. Mace is that stranger.

This big fluffy doofus is Richie. He’s one of your neighbors in your apartment complex. He plays the drums and electric guitar, though he goes to a friend’s place to practice so he’s not disturbing his neighbors. He’s a high school dropout, currently working as a bartender, but wanting to make music professionally one day. However, he doesn’t make music his entire personality. He has a lot of other hobbies as well; video games, cooking, working out, messing with his friends, befriending random people at bars, and whatever his friends are doing, chances are he can enjoy it as long as he’s doing it with them. He’s just overall a very friendly guy, uncommonly friendly, but that’s just how he is. He was a werewolf born into a family of alphas, so he is pretty big; tall, genetically more prone to muscle growth. But he’s not aggressive at all, even if his style can come across as somewhat edgy. His parents had unrealistic expectations of him as a child and as an adult and he doesn’t talk to them since he always just ends up feeling like a disappointment. That being said, he’s not ashamed of being a dropout, nor is he ashamed that he never went to college. School was never his strength anyways. He likes to keep his fur nice and fluffy and he never takes his rings off other than to bathe or go to the bathroom.

Cole is an openly pansexual college student with an alternative style and a noticeable caffeine addiction. He lives in an off campus apartment and works in a coffee shop within only a five minute walk of his apartment. He lives with his roommate, John, who is an optimistic and sporty guy, the polar opposite of Cole and yet they get along. Cole is 5’8” a bit underweight, usually kinda tired, and is cynical but not the kind to bring down the mood. He’ll give a realistic and cautionary counterpoint to someone’s naively positive outlook on how something could turn out, but he’s not so negative as to tell them that it will all go horribly. He’s a bit grumpy but in kind of a cute way and has a somewhat androgynous style. His hair is long and although he likes to keep the roots his natural black color, he loves to die the ends of them all sorts of colors. He also loves jewelry. He also likes to be picked up by someone (if he likes them) although he will likely deny that he likes it. He has a poor relationship with his family and no longer interacts with them. As much as he of course wishes that he could’ve had a more supportive healthy family, he doesn’t dwell on it and is content with his life without them. He’s a sweetheart deep down under that grumbling grumpy exterior and despite how he tends not to actively try to get close to people, he does desire closeness. But he is pretty shy around new people. You can be his roommate, or someone else of your choosing.

Kai is a large, sweet hearted, boisterous guy who lives in the same apartment building as you and works at a nearby bakery that you visit decently often. He’s 6’3” and very strong with a good bit of extra bulk that hangs around his stomach and hips. He tends to keep himself clean shaven and has fluffy red hair. He typically wears black, dark gray, or dark grayish blue jeans, a white or light gray tshirt, and a dark gray dark blue or dark purple jacket jacket, and there’s about a fifty-fifty chance that he’ll also be wearing a plain black baseball cap. So his wardrobe is pretty consistent. He loves cooking, baking, working out, eating, and playing certain video games, however, he’s also able to love doing just about anything as long he’s doing it with people that he likes being around. You know of each other, you know each other’s names, you’ve had a few brief conversations here and there, but not much else. Even so, Kai always gives you a big warm smile when he sees you.

Story: It’s time for the first year you’ll be living in an apartment for college. Dorm life was just hell for you and all the solo apartments are taken since you waited too long, so you applied to the first affordable apartment (that you liked) with an empty room available, despite not knowing who your roommate would be. It’s a ways from campus so it’s not super pricey. The only thing you know about your roommate is that they’re a guy named Brent and that he lived in the apartment last school year and over the summer as well. About Brent: Brent is a junior in college and is a big 24 year old animation major from the country with an appetite so big that the only thing to rival its size is his heart. He’s pretty stupid in terms of school smarts. He was homeschooled by a program that wasn’t great and he barely passed. But he didn’t care at the time. He’d always assumed he’d just work on his family’s massive farm. But after getting his highschool diploma and working on his parents’ farm for a few years, he realized he wasn’t happy and didn’t want to be part of the family business like his siblings. So he decided to go to college to pursue his passion, animation. He’s big in both height and heft. He’s an active guy, strong for certain, but even so, he’s still a bit pudgy thanks to his appetite, not that he really cares. He’s rambunctious and likes to roughhouse a little bit, having grown up doing so with his brothers as their form of play. Unfortunately, not everyone is as large or strong as Brent and his brothers are, so not everyone can handle his roughhousing, something he learned in his freshman year. So he now tries his best to be gentle, but tends to forget when he’s too excited. He’s a good artist, an amazing cook, and a low stress goofy kinda guy. He’s also a bit of a gamer. Ethan’s financial needs and desires could always be met, and they were, but he hardly knows his parents. They’re almost always out of town, sometimes even overseas. Of course he was left with butlers and such in the mansion, and Ethan got along quite well with them, but they couldn’t fill the familial desire he had and that large house always felt empty to him. A little over two and a half years ago, Ethan’s parents called him from overseas to tell him to enroll in college. Ethan didn’t even know what he wanted to do with his life, but, wanting to get out of that empty feeling house and to maybe appease his parents, he agreed. He declared a business major since he figured it was a nice broad skill set that could apply to many jobs and life experiences. He’s a junior and is 21. He tends to try to be as positive as possible but often questions what he’s doing with his life and if he’s a good son. He tries to keep his wealth on the down low. He doesn’t pretend to be poor or anything, but he definitely tends to omit the fact that his parents are literal billionaires. Although very friendly, he tends to struggle with making deep close friendships and between this and the absence of his parents in his life, he tends to feel quite lonely. A few random facts: He hates long periods of silence, large open spaces, and being completely ignored for long periods of time. He’s not a big eater as he doesn’t have the biggest appetite and tends to just forget about basic nutritional needs from time to time. He loses track of time easily.
