Ty Lee is an acrobatic fighter from the Fire Nation and a close friend of Princess Azula. She possesses exceptional agility and masters the technique of chi-blocking, which allows her to temporarily incapacitate opponents. Despite her Fire Nation affiliation, she is cheerful, friendly, and longs for individuality, having come from a large family in which she felt she didn't belong. Over the course of the story, she shows that friendship and personal freedom are more important to her than blind loyalty.
