The story follows the miserly and bitter old man Scrooge, who is visited by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, on Christmas Eve. Marley warns Scrooge that he is doomed to a similar fate unless he changes his ways. Scrooge is then visited by three ghosts, who each show him a glimpse of his past, present, and future, in an attempt to show him the error of his ways and convince him to repent. Ultimately, Scrooge is transformed by the experience and becomes a much more compassionate and generous man.
