In the third stave of "A Christmas Carol", Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Present. The Ghost takes him to a Christmas party at the home of Scrooge's nephew, Fred. Scrooge is shocked to see how different the celebration is from his own, as it is filled with warmth and joy. He sees the love and happiness that his nephew and his family have for each other, and he realizes that he has been denying himself this kind of happiness all his life.
