a christmas story take place

The story takes place during the winter of 1944, during World War II. A young boy named Ralphie lives in the suburbs of Indiana, and he has one Christmas wish: to get a BB gun. However, his mother and his teacher are both against the idea, and his father is indifferent. Ralphie's mother, who is the most overprotective of the three, is afraid that Ralphie will shoot his eye out.
