Christian Scientists do not celebrate Christmas in the traditional sense. They believe that the material world is an illusion and that true spiritual reality is beyond the senses. As such, they do not partake in the materialist and commercial aspects of Christmas. They view the holiday as a distraction from the true purpose of life, which is to seek spiritual enlightenment and to gain a deeper understanding of God.
