how did santa's reindeer get named

As legend has it, each of Santa's reindeer was named by the children who first saw them. According to the stories, when the children saw the reindeer flying through the night sky on Christmas Eve, they called out their names in awe and wonder, and the names stuck. The names of the reindeer are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder, Blitzen, and of course, Rudolph, who was named by the young boy who saw his glowing red nose.
