how did zero die in nightmare before christmas

According to legend, Zero the Ghost Pup was killed by Oogie Boogie during the events of "Nightmare Before Christmas." Oogie Boogie had planned to use Zero's bones as part of his plan to take over Halloween Town, but he was thwarted by Jack Skellington and his friends. Oogie Boogie then chased after Zero, who ran off to hide in the cemetery. Unfortunately, Oogie Boogie caught up to Zero and killed him, leaving his ghostly form to haunt the cemetery forevermore.
