Mexicans celebrate Christmas in a similar way to many other countries. They put up Christmas decorations, like a nativity scene and Christmas lights. They also have a large dinner with family and friends, and exchange gifts. They also have a special tradition called "Posadas" which is a celebration of the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. It is a nine-day celebration where people reenact the journey, and end with a special mass on Christmas Eve. The main dish of the Posadas is "ponche," a traditional fruit punch made with dried fruits and spices.
