In Switzerland, Christmas is celebrated similarly to many other countries. The holiday is celebrated with family gatherings, gift-giving, and festive meals. Families often decorate their homes with Christmas trees and other festive decorations, and children look forward to the arrival of St. Nicholas on December 6th. Swiss Christmas customs also include a traditional meal of roasted goose or pork served with potatoes and vegetables, as well as a special type of bread called a Zimtstern. Additionally, there are many traditional Christmas carols that are sung in Switzerland, such as "O Tannenbaum" and "Jingle Bells".
