Puerto Rico celebrates Christmas for the entire month of December, culminating in a grand celebration on Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve is known as Noche Buena, or Good Night, and it's a special night of feasting, singing, and dancing. Many families gather together for a big meal, which often includes roast pork, rice and beans, and sweet plantains. After dinner, families join together for midnight Mass, which is a very important part of the holiday season in Puerto Rico. It's also common to exchange gifts after midnight Mass.
