It takes about 7-10 years to grow a Christmas tree to its full size. The trees are usually planted in the spring, and they are ready for harvest around Christmas time in the fall. The trees are cut, baled, and shipped to Christmas tree lots where they are sold to families for their holiday decorations. Some species of Christmas trees, like the Douglas fir and the Blue Spruce, can grow to be quite large, up to 60 feet tall and 20 feet wide. Other species, such as the Norway spruce and the white pine, are smaller and more manageable in size.
