According to the National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA), approximately 25-30 million US households put up a Christmas tree each year. This number is estimated to be around 10-15 million real trees and 15-20 million artificial trees. The NCTA also reports that the average US household spends around $800 on holiday decorations each year.
