The Grinch, a grumpy and bitter creature who lives in a cave on a nearby mountain, despises the Whos and their joyous celebration of Christmas. He plots to steal all their presents, trees, and decorations while they're asleep on Christmas Eve. But when his plan succeeds, he finds that the spirit of Christmas still persists within the Whos, and he is touched by their warmth and kindness.
