In the original book, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, there are no deleted scenes. However, the 1966 animated television special based on the book does include some deleted scenes that were cut from the final version. One of these deleted scenes shows the Grinch's mother arguing with his father over whether the Grinch should be allowed to keep the Christmas decorations he's stolen. Another deleted scene shows the Grinch's father hitting him with a belt for stealing the decorations.
