It's a good question. Many of the Christmas traditions we observe today are actually based on old pagan festivals and beliefs. For example, the Christmas tree, which we decorate with lights and ornaments, is actually a remnant of an old pagan tradition called Yule, which was celebrated by the ancient Germans. The Yule tree was decorated with candles and other ornaments to represent the rebirth of the sun and the coming of the new year. And the tradition of giving gifts on Christmas Day is believed to have been influenced by the pagan custom of exchanging gifts during the winter solstice. So, while Christmas has been Christianized and given a more
