Russia celebrates Christmas with many of the same traditions as other countries, such as decorating a Christmas tree, exchanging gifts, and attending church services. However, there are also some unique traditions specific to Russia. For example, children in Russia often receive gifts from Ded Moroz, the Russian equivalent of Santa Claus. Ded Moroz typically wears a blue or red coat and rides a sleigh pulled by three horses. On Christmas Eve, children may also leave their boots outside their door for Ded Moroz to fill with gifts.
