A baby reindeer is also known as a fawn or a calf. They are born in the spring or early summer after a gestation period of about 210 days. They are covered in a soft, woolly coat that is white or grayish in color, and they have large, round eyes that are very expressive. They are born with antlers, but they are small and covered in a fuzzy layer of skin called velvet. Baby reindeer are usually able to stand and walk shortly after birth, and they are able to run within a few days.
