Reindeer make various sounds depending on the situation. The most common sound is a bellowing "moose", which is used to communicate with other reindeer. Reindeer may also bleat to express their fear, excitement, or curiosity. When reindeer are startled or in danger, they may make a loud screeching sound similar to the "yip" of a wolf. Finally, reindeer have a unique low-pitched snorting sound that they make when they are eating or licking their lips.
