In Spain, Christmas is celebrated on the evening of December 24th, also known as "Nochebuena." The main event of the day is a large family dinner, typically consisting of roast turkey or lamb, seafood, and traditional desserts such as turrón (a type of nougat) and polvorónes (a type of shortbread). After dinner, children open their presents, and then the whole family gathers around the Christmas tree to sing carols and enjoy each other's company. The next day, December 25th, is a more relaxed day of rest and recovery.
