Christmas in Puerto Rico starts on December 24th, which is known as Nochebuena, and it is a time for family gatherings and feasting. It's also a time when many people attend midnight mass, which is called Misa de Gallo (Mass of the Rooster). Christmas Day, which is December 25th, is a public holiday and is celebrated with more feasting, as well as exchanging gifts and enjoying time with loved ones.
