The movie Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was first released on November 15th, 1964. It was based on the classic 1939 Christmas song of the same name, written by Johnny Marks and featuring the voice of Burl Ives. The movie was produced by Rankin-Bass Productions and directed by Max Fleischer.
