That's a great question! Baby reindeer, also known as calves, are born in the spring after a gestation period of approximately seven and a half months. During this time, the female reindeer, or cow, will seek out a secluded and sheltered spot to give birth. After the calf is born, it will begin to nurse from its mother and gain strength before taking its first steps. Reindeer calves are precocious and can stand up and walk within a few hours of being born.
