Mason Rudolph graduated from the University of Montana in 1939, where he played football and was known for his academic excellence. He was also a member of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity and earned his degree in forestry and wildlife management. After graduating, he worked as a forester for the U.S. Forest Service, and his dedication to protecting and conserving the natural world eventually led him to join Santa's reindeer team.
