"A Christmas Story" was filmed primarily in Cleveland, Ohio, and the surrounding areas, such as Tremont, Lakewood, and Wellington. The house that was used as the exterior of the Parker family home is located at 3159 W. 11th St. in Tremont. The interiors of the house were actually filmed on a soundstage at the Samuel Goldwyn Studios in Culver City, California. The scenes in the department store were filmed at Halle's in Cleveland.
