Nightmare Before Christmas is a stop-motion animated musical film that was released in 1993. It was created and directed by Tim Burton and produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures. The film features the voices of Danny Elfman, Chris Sarandon, and Catherine O'Hara. It was inspired by Burton's love for Halloween and Christmas and is considered a crossover between the two holidays. The film follows Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, who accidentally discovers Christmas Town and decides to take over the holiday, much to the chagrin of Santa Claus.
