Ashiya Douman

Ashiya Douman (蘆屋 道満WP, Ashiya Dōman?) is a Heian period WP figure known as the rival of Abe-no-Seimei. His Alter Ego Limbo is a major antagonist in Fate/Grand Order. He lacks Limbo's penchant for cruelty and raving, though their animosity for Abe-no-Seimei is particularly the same. The chance to best his rival is why Douman allowed his Alter Ego to possess him during the events of the Heian-kyō Lostbelt. But after surviving the destruction of Fantasy Tree Hell Realm Mandala and Limbo, he was horrified for his part in the atrocities and tried to commit suicide out of fear he would become like Limbo. Seimei convinced him not to, though. But, Caster Murasaki Shikibu's accounts imply that Douman from the past was that much inhuman and untrustworthy. Ascending to the Throne of Heroes, he was known as a Anti-Hero who unscrupulously harmed people and whose death lead society to peace and tranquillity. Alter Ego Douman, or Alter Ego Limbo, summoned by the Alien God was no longer exactly the same existence as the living Ashiya Douman, so he was described as a "caricaturized aspect of the existing Ashiya Douman." While he was not a complete representation of the living Ashiya Douman, the accounts of Murasaki Shikibu implied they shared much of the same inhuman nature and untrustworthiness. He modified himself into a High-Servant by incorporating three component spirits into his Saint Graph. After being defeated and summoned to Chaldea Security Organization, he feigned ignorance, behaving as if he remembered nothing of his prior activities and acting confused over his Alter Ego Saint Graph.
